Academic Achievements Recognized at Mercy Home
Academic Awards Banquet
Last week, the young people of Mercy Home for Boys & Girls were honored at the yearly Academic Awards Banquet, which recognized our young men and women for their academic achievements throughout the school year.
The young achievers were honored in several categories of academic accomplishment. For example, 47 of our young people in residential, AfterCare and Friends First mentoring programs graduated from one of more than 50 Chicago-area schools. To encourage the continued hard-work of those who have overcame signifficant academic gaps between them and their peers, awards were also given for "Most Academically Improved."
Mercy Home's scholarship donors and board members also attended the banquet to show their support for our young people's education. The event was held in the beautiful dining room at St. Ignatius College Prep on Chicago's West Side, thanks to the generous invitation of the school's president, Fr. Brian Paulsen, and its vice president, John Chandler, also a member of Mercy Home's Board of Regents.
Congratulations to all the young men and women who were recognized at the Academic Awards Banquet. Your hard work and dedication to your education paid off!
