MG 82821 Resolving to Succeed in 2012

Take the stairs. Turn off your cell phone. Eat in more than you eat out.

At the start of each new year, millions of Americans vow to change something in their lives.  They make a resolution, and try to stick to it.

Our young men and women also embrace this New Year’s tradition.

Here are just some of their resolutions for 2012:

  • To get my grades up—Kevin
  • To graduate high school and get into college—Malika
  • To get accepted to college and stop playing around so much—Walter
  • To become more responsible—Delano
  • To stay on the right path and look on the bright side of things—Alexis
  • To try new things—Larry
  • To get a job—Patrick
  • To be all that I can be—Terry
  • To not take stuff so seriously—Lindsey
  • To get better grades—Phil
  • To focus on myself—Krista

One Response to Resolving to Succeed in 2012

    An Open Letter:

    To All at Mercy Home,

I am so grateful to God, for making me part of The Mercy Home family.

I don’t know how long I have been corresponding with Fr. Scott, and of course, Fr. Jim before him, but I hope I shall be part of this most special family for many many more years of health and happiness and God’s most gracious and omnipotent blessings for our Mercy Home family, for all of God’s children with us, for my immediate family and myself.

I always read the Mercy Home literature that comes to my mailbox (Waif’s Messenger, The Herald, etc.), and now I am able to go into the Website and become (virtually), closer to all of the events and happenings at Mercy Home.

Since I live in the state of Pennsylvania, I cannot do certain things (like mentoring ) as an example, that would enable me to work with the boys, etc. I am a teacher at a major University and that experience could help me to help some of the boys at Mercy. In God’s great love and blessings for the boys and for me, that may become a reality.

Up until now my involvement has been mainly limited to being a Guardian Angel (as Fr. Scott calls me in his gracious letters), and by making donations periodically. I will continue to do this and I will continue to be part of “OUR” wonderful family.

If I ever move to the Chicago area, that would of course enable me to become more personally involved.

In the interim, I hope to visit Chicago one day this year and visit this very special place that I have become part of by God’s infinite love and MERCY to me.

I place all of the above in Our Gracious God’s most wonderful hands through the pain and suffering of His most holy and Divine Son, Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Please pray for me and I will always keep all of you (us together), in my prayers.

Thank you all and God bless you,

    With love and prayers always,

    Ciro
