Measuring Success

Each of our young people comes to us with significant challenges. But they also have significant strengths. We work with every young person who comes to Mercy Home to create an individual treatment plan that includes goals and timetables.

To ensure that we are providing kids with the help they need to follow their plans to success, we are committed to measuring the impact of our program and to continuous quality improvement in our delivery of our services for youth. In our view, disciplined measurement of success leads to positive outcomes for young people.

We evaluate success through tangible outcomes such as improved grades and better discipline reports.  We also measure success by tracking the outcomes of processes that help our young people reach their goals.

A few examples of our most recent measurements of success include:

  • 72% of our children overcame or lessened the problems that impacted their lives before coming to Mercy Home.
  • 79% of our young people report a belief that they can achieve success in school despite great struggles with education in the past.
  • 98% of our young people advanced a grade level in school.
  • 94% of our children who were failing their classes upon arriving at Mercy Home improved their grades to a “C” average or better.
  • 92% of our AfterCare youth made measurable quarterly progress in pursuit of their personal development plans.
