• To be a positive role model for children in all areas, including moral and spiritual growth
• Desire to grow spiritually
• Ability to make friends and live in community with other volunteers
• A "calling" to serve children in need
• College educated
• At least 21 years of age
• Willing to dedicate a year of volunteer service
• Reliable and flexible
• Openness to diversity
• Sense of humor
• Demonstrate leadership qualities

Applying to MercyWorks

MercyWorks is currently accepting applications for the 2010-2011 volunteer year. MercyWorks accepts applications on a rolling basis, with priority given to applicants who apply by April 1 and with offers being extended to applicants as early as January. It is to the applicant's advantage to apply early. If you applying after April 1st, please contact the MercyWorks Director at 312-738-9526 to find out about available positions.

Volunteers may renew their volunteer commitment for an additional year or they may apply for full-time employment status after one year of volunteer service.
