Meet the Staff


Ian McBride

Ian McBrideIan is the MercyWorks Program Coordinator. He has worked at Mercy Home for Boys and Girls since August of 2006. Prior to joining the MercyWorks team in 2007, Ian was a member of the 2006-2007 MercyWorks class, his placement was in Campbell Home. Originally from Rochester, New York, Ian attended St. Bonaventure University where he graduated in 2005 with a degree in Marketing. Liz Dayton

Liz DaytonLiz is the MercyWorks Program Manager.  She has worked at Mercy Home for Boys and Girls since August of 2003.  Prior to joining the MercyWorks team in 2006, Liz worked as the Senior Education Coordinator on the Mercy Home Girls' Campus.  A native Chicagoan, Liz taught at Henson Elementary School on Chicago's west side for 2 years through the Teach for America program after graduating from Northwestern University in 2001. She also holds a Master of Education degree in curriculum and design from National Louis University.  You can reach Liz via email or by phoning  312-738-9526.

Katie SmithKatie Smith

Katie is the Director for Volunteer Programs.  She has worked at Mercy Home for Boys and Girls since July of 2002.  Katie directed the MercyWorks program for 5 years and currently oversees both MercyWorks as well as the Friends First mentoring program and Volunteer Resources.  After graduating from the College of the Holy Cross in Massachusetts in 1997, she served as a Jesuit Volunteer in Santa Ana, California and then went on to do fundraising for several years at an all-girls school in Boston.  Katie holds a Master's degree in Social Work from Boston College, as well as a Master of Arts degree in Pastoral Ministry, also from Boston College.  You can reach Katie via email or by phoning 312-738-6369.
