An Easter Greeting From Fr. Scott

Fr. ScottLet me take this occasion to wish you, your family members and loved ones a Blessed Easter. During the celebration of the resurrection on Easter Sunday our Risen Lord, who is so good and generous to all of us, gives to us three gifts. The resurrection of Jesus gives to each of us Jesus' Presence, Jesus' Peace and Jesus' Power.

Jesus' presence comes to us in his resurrected life, through His word found in the scriptures and in the sacraments that strengthen us in our faith. The risen Lord strengthens us, dwells within us and walks beside us in every moment of our life journey.

The gift of Jesus' peace is a peace that we experience from the inside knowing that we have been called by name and are loved by God. This is a peace that the world cannot give, but a peace that comes to us when we are in right relationships with family members, friends, the poor and disenfranchised and our God.

The gift of Jesus' power is given to us through His resurrection in that all of us have been given the gift of being co-creators with God. Through His resurrection, we are given Christ's power to be agents of transformation in order to make the world a better place to live for all God's children.

My Easter wish for you and your loved ones is that during this Holy Week, you may come to a deeper understanding of Jesus' Presence in your life, that you embrace the Peace that comes to us during the Easter season and that you use the Power that has been given to you to make a difference in the lives of others.

Easter blessings,

Fr. Scott
