Tutoring Testimonies

"A lot of folks talk about the state of the world today but never take the time out to change the problems.  Mercy Home has shown me I can, one step at a time."
                             - Traci, Mercy Home tutor

As Mercy Home continues to grow, so does our need for tutors to work with our children.  We are now accepting applications, so start now to make a difference in the life of a child.

One of our girls with her tutor. We believe education enables a child to escape the cycle of poverty.  Only through a strong education can a student improve his or her life. The girls and boys of Mercy Home are given educational support from the moment they walk in the door through our dedicated volunteer army of nearly 200 tutors who work one-on-one with the youth.  Our tutors support the goals of the youth by spending one hour per week for the school year helping them with homework and encouraging good educational skills.  Simply having someone who cares whether a child does his homework often makes a difference.

One hour a week can make a lifetime of difference.
