Mercy Home for Boys & Girls was named among the country’s top nonprofit workplaces. The honor was announced today by the Top Workplaces Industry Awards program and was based the same annual survey that has resulted in Mercy Home being named a Top Workplace locally by the Chicago Tribune for the past 12 years and a USA Today overall top workplace in March.
The awards recognize employers in 10 industries, ranging from construction to technology to healthcare and more. Mercy Home was among the 119 organizations recognized in the non-profit industry.

Fr. Scott noted last spring that workplace awards like this one send a positive message for qualified professionals considering any of our open positions.
“I think this says that Mercy Home should be top of mind for anyone interested in a career in youth care, whether they live nearby or are considering relocating from elsewhere,” Fr. Scott said in March after the USA Today honor.
The workplace survey on which the award is based has been conducted annually by Energage, an HR platform that analyzes employee input to assess company culture and workplace satisfaction. Top Workplace honors are based exclusively on the feedback that Energage collects.
The anonymous survey uniquely measures 15 culture drivers that are critical to the success of any organization: including alignment, execution, and connection, just to name a few.
Survey responses consistently show that the sense of mission and being able to make a difference in the lives of others are important factors in coworker satisfaction. Top Workplace awards also recognize the quality of supports available to coworkers like benefits, training, work-life balance, amenities and more.
