Are you looking for a good boarding school Alternative?

While Mercy Home for Boys & Girls offers a residential program, we provide a different experience from a boarding school. In fact, Mercy Home is a great boarding school alternative for young men and women age 11-21 struggling in the Chicago metropolitan area. We provide support and treatment for young people experiencing emotional, psychological, and academic difficulties due to past trauma and neglect.

Mercy Home offers a state licensed and independently accredited program that works with the families of the children it serves. In addition to counseling for the child, parents and guardians are also offered counseling to repair broken family relationships and allow the boys and girls to return to the healthiest home possible once their time in the program is complete. Although our Home is a great alternative to a boarding school, Mercy Home is a residential program providing children wrap-around services.

Q. What is a boarding school?

A. A boarding school is a learning institution where students reside during the semester while attending school. A therapeutic boarding school combines both therapy and academic programs to students with emotional or behavioral disorders, learning disabilities, addictions, or other issues.

Q. How is Mercy Home different?

A. The biggest difference is where our kids attend school. Many of the kids continue to attend the school where they were enrolled before coming to Mercy Home. If that is not possible, we work to find an ideal school for the child that will meet his or her needs.
