On Sunday, March 24, 38 Mercy Home Heroes took to the streets of Chicago for the Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle. Among them were 22 Mercy Home coworkers and three of our kids.

The rain stayed away and the team shined in its first ever appearance at this race.

With a threat of rain in the forecast and temperatures in the 40s, it had the potential to be a rough day. But the rain stayed away, and the team shined in its first ever appearance at this race.

Each runner had the goal of raising $250 for Mercy Home and we greatly exceeded that number in raising more than $5,000 collectively. Three of our coworkers, Becky Stevens, Maisha Lowery and SaShay Butler, raised a combined $1,135 with SaShay’s $570 leading the way.

We are so proud of all those who took part, many of whom ran their longest race ever in the 8-kilometer (4.97-mile) event.
