Mercy Home’s chef and manager of the West Loop kitchen Kenny Banks recently held a cooking class for our young men as part of a six-week cooking program. In the first class, the boys learned how to make homemade pizza sauce. They then created bagel bites and small pizzas on tortillas, covering them with a variety of toppings. Banks hopes that this class will help our youth learn the important skill of cooking so that they can create meals for themselves. It also exposed them to a career in the culinary arts, allowed them to learn about health and safety in the kitchen, and helped them gain the confidence to keep making delicious meals.
