Summer Fun in Full Swing at Mercy Field Day

Summer Fun in Full Swing at Mercy Field Day

Our young men and women recently celebrated summer at the first-ever Mercy Field Day!

Group laughingMercy Field Day came about through some brainstorming and hard work by both our Associate Board and Youth Advisory Board. During the planning, one of the Advisory Board members, Tiberias, even joined a phone call with two Associate Board members to help with planning and share ideas.

Both boards hope this fun event will become a yearly tradition!

After dinner, our kids had a number of fun activities to choose from, including karaoke in the cafeteria, tie dyeing their official Mercy Field Day t-shirt, and lawn games like ladder ball, bags, and jump rope outside.

The evening kicked off with a delicious meal that included nachos, hot dogs, corn, and ice cream from Halo Top, which our kids and coworkers enjoyed while spending time chatting together.

Though a rain storm passed through, it didn’t put a halt to the fun! Relay races were held in the gym, and once the rain slowed down, everyone was able to go outside and continue tie-dyeing shirts, playing games, and roasting marshmallows to make s’mores.

The evening came to an exciting conclusion with a water balloon toss. After many rounds of intense play, Mercy Home coworkers Justin Earls and Jaquan Grier were crowned the champions.

It was a great evening of spending time together for our kids, coworkers, and Associate Board members. We are looking forward to next year’s event already!
