lux (luks), noun: a unit of illumination

To celebrate the light that Mercy Home brings to young lives, Mercy Home is proud to introduce an exciting new event this fall—the Lux Gala.

Held in the exquisitely restored art deco interior of Chicago’s Old Post Office, this upscale, black-tie gala will thrill you as you journey through several rooms of the historic venue.

Enjoy immersive, participatory, and engaging experiences including stage performances, free-roaming entertainment, a dinner program, auctions and raffles, VIP experiences and more.

Best of all, by joining us for the Lux Gala, you’ll be part of a movement to bring light and hope to children and families throughout Chicago.

For more than 136 years, Mercy Home has been a beacon for kids struggling with adversities like abuse, neglect, violence, and more.

A CITY IN CRISIS

There is a general sense out there that our city is in crisis.

– Fortune 500 CEO

Crime, housing instability, struggling schools, and turbulent households are just a few of the challenges our city faces. These realities have the greatest impact on young people like those who turn to us for help.

Before coming to Mercy Home:

%
of our youth experience housing instability
%
of our youth experienced abuse
%
of our youth experienced neglect
%
of our youth came from a family affected by substance abuse

But we see in our children the brilliant possibility of a brighter future for all of Chicago.

With your help, we can address traumas that often trap young people in cycles of anxiety, anger, joblessness, or Incarceration. And we can give them the tools they need to build success and independence—tools like life skills, education, career development, and more.

At Mercy Home, young people not only gain resilience, but they also gain the confidence they need to go out and make a difference in our community.

So, your participation in the Lux Gala helps young people at Mercy Home amplify the light for more people in Chicago.

After coming to Mercy Home:

%
