Thanks to all who joined us on Saturday, April 12 for our annual spring gala, Have Mercy! Each year, Have Mercy! brings together leading young professionals for a night of dining, dancing, and entertainment, all within the spectacular setting of Chicago’s Trump International Hotel & Tower.

Our 2014 event was another resounding success, bringing together over 400 guests—all in support of ensuring a good education, hope, and opportunity for Mercy Home’s kids.

Official Rules for Mercy Home's "Have Mercy" Gala 2014 Raffle

VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. All raffle tickets must be purchased or issued in the City of Chicago or other authorized jurisdiction. The "Have Mercy" Gala Event will be held at Trump International Hotel & Tower, 401 N. Wabash Ave., Chicago, Illinois, 60607 to be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014 (the "Drawing"). Participation constitutes each entrant's full and unconditional acceptance of and agreement to be bound by these Official Rules. Raffle is sponsored by Mercy Home for Boys & Girls, 1140 W. Jackson, Chicago, IL 60607 ("Sponsor").

Eligibility / To Enter: The Raffle is open to individuals who are at least 18 years of age. To enter, eligible entrants must purchase one or more raffle tickets for the Raffle and provide name and contact information. Tickets for the Raffle will cost twenty dollars ($20.00) per ticket or one-hundred dollars ($100.00) for 6 tickets. Tickets must be purchased or issued in the City of Chicago or other authorized jurisdiction through Sponsor prior to the Drawing and while supplies last. Employees of Sponsor and American Airlines and other persons involved in the administration of the Raffle ("Sponsor Personnel") are not eligible to enter or win.

Selection of Winners: One (1) Grand Prize winner will be randomly selected in the Drawing. Winners need not be present at the Drawing to win. Winners must acknowledge acceptance of their prize to Sponsor by April 30, 2014 or prize may be forfeited, as detailed below. Odds of winning depend on number of eligible entries.


Grand Prize

a.) Grand Prize winner will receive one (1) prize consisting of two (2) round-trip Business Class cabin tickets aboard American Airlines from the American Airlines or American Eagle city nearest the city of residence (in Sponsor's sole discretion) providing direct service to any American Airlines served destination within the Caribbean. Subject to availability. Air Transportation terms and conditions do apply. This certificate cannot be duplicated, replaced or refunded if lost, stolen or destroyed. No cash value. Travel must be completed by October 12, 2014 or prize will be forfeited in its entirety. Approximate retail value of Grand Prize ("ARV"): $4,500.00 (Actual value may vary based on airfare fluctuations and distance between departure and destination.)

b.) Seats for promotional tickets/travel are capacity controlled and are based on availability at the time of reservation.

c.) Award letter is void if sold, purchased or bartered.

d.) Award letters are not replaceable if lost or stolen and cannot be extended or renewed.

e.) Tickets have no value except when redeemed in accordance with the terms and conditions listed below. Tickets are not transferable or refundable.

f.) Tickets are subject to availability of promotional inventories and current blackout dates. Coach must be booked in "T" class, Business in "U" class and First in "Z" class. No open tickets are permitted. Blackout dates may apply.
g.) Tickets must be issued by the American Airlines Ticket Redemption Center at 1-800-727-2142. Travel agencies cannot issue Tickets.
h.) Any applicable fees, taxes, surcharges, service charges or passenger facility charges are the responsibility of the user and must be paid at the time the Ticket is issued. Taxes shall include all federal, state, local and foreign taxes of any kind, and whether assessed for winning or otherwise coming into receipt of the Tickets, or in relation to use of the Tickets.
i.) Tickets are valid for travel only on American Airlines, American Eagle, American's regional airline affiliate or AmericanConnection® service (collectively referred to in this Exhibit B as "American Airlines"). AmericanConnection service is operated by Trans States Airlines, Inc., Chautauqua Airlines, Inc. and RegionsAir, Inc., each of which operates as an independent contractor. Travel is not valid on flights operated under a code sharing agreement with other air carriers.
j.) Travel must be via the most direct American Airlines routing. Unnecessary and circuitous routings, connecting points and/or segments are prohibited. Stopovers, except for the next connecting flight, are not permitted.
k.) American Airlines is not responsible for, and will not pay, expenses associated with transportation on other carriers, ground transportation, excess baggage charges or overnight lodging, if required.
l.) If American Airlines, for any reason, discontinues service to the selected destination before the travel date, the user must select an alternate American Airlines destination.
m.) After a Ticket has been issued, an administrative service charge of $100.00 will be assessed for any change requiring reticketing, such as a change of origin or destination. Changes requiring reticketing must have prior approval of ticket authorizer.
n.) Unused Tickets may be used at a later date (valid until travel expiration of this contract), subject to a ticket reissue fee. Tickets that are not used by the expiration date of the contract will not be extended. Credit will not be given for unused Tickets.
o.) Lost or stolen Tickets will not be replaced.
p.) Passengers are not eligible for AADVANTAGE mileage credit or any other promotional benefit that American may offer. AADVANTAGE miles and/or stickers cannot be used to upgrade.
q.) Purchased upgrades are permitted by paying the difference between full fare for the authorized class of service and the next class of service. Paid upgrades are only allowed for next cabin. Two cabin upgrades will not be processed. Processing of purchased upgrades will be handled when redeeming certificate through our Ticket Redemption Center and may not be handled at airport ticket counters. Processing time is a minimum of 48 hours based on hours of operation of Ticket Redemption Center.

General Terms: Winners are responsible for all taxes, expenses, baggage fees, ground transportation, lodging, meals, fees and costs applicable to their respective prize. A winner's right to a prize is non-transferable and may not be assigned. No substitution of prize or election of cash in lieu of prize will be permitted, except in the sole discretion of Sponsor in light of prize unavailability, in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be awarded. Sponsor will issue 1099 tax forms to winner based on prize value.

By participating in this Raffle, entrants agree to be bound by these Rules and all decisions of Sponsor and Sponsor Personnel, which shall be binding and final. Sponsor and its affiliated entities are not responsible for printing, distribution, production, or other errors that may affect the Raffle, its operation, or its integrity, and may rescind, cancel, or revoke this Raffle based on such error and without liability by refunding all tickets purchased. Tickets or receipts that are mutilated, incomplete, defective, altered, illegible, forged or irregular in any way, or not in full compliance with these Official Rules, are void. Entry constitutes permission for Sponsor to use Winners' name and likeness for advertising and/or promotional purposes (except where prohibited by law).

Winners will be notified on or about April 14, 2014. Sponsor will attempt to notify winners based on contact information provided to Sponsor at time of entry. Entrants are solely responsible for providing Sponsor with accurate and updated information. Sponsor and its affiliated entities, and Sponsor Personnel are not responsible for incorrect, incomplete, or illegible contact information provided by entrants. Winners and travel companions may be required to execute an affidavit of eligibility, waiver of liability and publicity release, to be returned to Sponsor prior to travel. In the event that the winners fail to claim any prize or fail to acknowledge acceptance of a prize, the winner's right to the prize may be forfeited. In such event, the prize may be sold and all proceeds will benefit Sponsor.

Each entrant, including each winner, agrees to release and hold harmless Sponsor from any liability, claims, actions, losses, or damages arising in any way from participation in this Raffle or acceptance, failure to accept, receipt, ownership, use, or misuse of any prize. To the extent that some provisions may not be applicable in whole or in part, the liability of Sponsor, shall be limited to the fullest maximum extent permitted by law, including, where permitted, eliminated altogether. Entrant agrees that (1) under no circumstance will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, consequential, or any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and (2) any and all claims, judgments, and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Raffle, but in no event attorneys' fees.

Sponsor respects your privacy, and entrants' information will not be used except by Sponsor, as otherwise provided in these Rules. The Raffle is subject to the laws of the State of Illinois and the Municipal Code of the City of Chicago. Any dispute in connection with these Official Rules or this Raffle shall be resolved exclusively in state or federal courts in Chicago, Illinois. Entrants consent to jurisdiction in such courts.

Winner List: To obtain a copy of the winners' names, send your request in writing along with a stamped, self-addressed envelope (VT residents may omit return postage) to: Mercy Home for Boys & Girls, Attn: "Have Mercy" Gala Raffle Winner List, 1140 W. Jackson, Chicago, IL 60607. Requests must be received by April 30, 2014.
