Sweet Sixteen: Have Mercy! Gala Celebrates Sixteenth Year

Sweet Sixteen: Have Mercy! Gala Celebrates Sixteenth Year

This year’s 16th annual Have Mercy! spring gala was a tremendous success, thanks to our Associate Board members and friends who attended. The Associate Board’s signature fundraiser was held again at Theater on the Lake on Friday, May 10, and included a live band, dancing, cocktails, games, and delicious hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and late-night bites, all in a beautiful lakefront setting.

Our guests generously gave to support our Home through a pledge and a silent auction and had chances to win a Mexican or Caribbean beach resort vacation. Music by DJ Spoiled Milk and musicians Dad’s Night Out had attendees singing along and hitting the dance floor. We were also thrilled to have ABC-7 Chicago meteorologist Greg Dutra join us as the emcee of the event.

A special highlight of the evening is the presentation of the Spirit of Mercy Award, which was given this year to Associate Board member Cassie Belek. This honor is bestowed upon a member who has been on the board for more than one year and has shown active participation and dedication to Mercy Home through volunteering and fundraising. Congratulations to Cassie!

Mercy Home’s Associate Board promotes the mission of Mercy Home for Boys & Girls by engaging young professionals through social, volunteer, and fundraising activities. In addition to Have Mercy!, they host the March for Kids Kickoff at Butch McGuire’s, and an annual social night each fall called Cheers for Mercy.

Thank you again to everyone who made this year’s Have Mercy! such a wonderful evening!
