Celebrate National Volunteer Week
April 27-May 3, 2008

Every year, by Presidential Proclamation, one week in April is designated as National Volunteer Week. It is a time when Americans are asked to reach out and share our blessings with those in need.

At Mercy Home, we celebrate National Volunteer Week by honoring those who so freely lend their time and talents to extend compassion to our young people.

Please read about three such caring people, and the impact that they are having on young lives.

Your gift of time as a volunteer is one of the most valuable ways you can impact the lives of our children and all you have to do is just be yourself.  There are several ways you can volunteer at Mercy Home for Boys & Girls:  

Mentor - Be a positive role model as a Friends First mentor who works with children in your community.

Tutor - Become a Tutor for the young people who live at Mercy Home to provide extra support and encouragement in schoolwork.
