The 18th annual Have Mercy! spring gala was another incredible success, thanks to the hard work of our Associate Board members and friends who attended. The Associate Board’s signature fundraiser was held at Venue West, a new location, on Friday, May 8. This fun event featured music, dancing, drinks and cocktails sponsored by White Claw and Badger Mountain, a Nintendo 64 Mario Kart tournament, and delicious hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and late-night bites.

We are grateful that our guest gave generously to support our Home through a pledge and silent auction, as well as a chance to win a luxury resort vacation to Mexico, Jamaica, or the Dominican Republic. Music by DJ Hillery Banks had guests hitting the dance floor throughout the evening. We also again welcomed ABC-7 Chicago meteorologist Greg Dutra as the emcee of the event.
A special highlight of every Have Mercy! is the presentation of the Spirit of Mercy Award, which was given to Melanie Chaplinsky. This honor is bestowed upon a member who has been on the board for more than one year and has shown active participation and dedication to Mercy Home through volunteering and fundraising.
Congratulations to Melanie!
Mercy Home’s Associate Board promotes the mission of Mercy Home for Boys & Girls by engaging young professionals through social, volunteer, and fundraising activities. In addition to Have Mercy!, they host the March for Kids Kickoff at Butch McGuire’s, and other social and volunteer events throughout the year.
Thank you again to everyone who made this year’s Have Mercy! such a wonderful evening!
