Last week, Mercy Home’s craft cottage showcased our talented young women’s artwork for their peers. And while the show was a public display, plenty of preparation took place in private.
“The therapists were able to fill in the gaps that I couldn’t,” observed Craft Cottage Coordinator Rebecca Bowlin, “and they really helped us tackle issues they were struggling with and how making art could be helpful for them.”

The girls were also given the creative freedom to design their own unique artwork. Our girls chose topics related to hair, nails, and fashion in ways that represented the diversity our girls bring to Mercy Home.
The girls were excited to see their artwork on display for their peers and to celebrate their Individuality.
According to Rebecca, the art show was a win for the girls. “It was a win to celebrate and showcase their creativity, their progress in therapy, their sense of community.”
Thanks so much to our staff for celebrating our girls’ artistic talents!
