Friend Makes Prom Shopping a Magical Experience

Once again, a dear friend of Mercy Home made sure our young people had a memorable prom season. As she has for more than a decade, Suzanne Zaccone of the Zaccone Family Foundation took our seniors shopping for promwear.

For the young women at our Walsh Girls Campus, Zaccone and her niece Carly visited Peaches Boutique, where each youth was able to find the right look for the occasion. Dresses, shoes, purses, and jewelry all came together to create ensembles that reflected both style and individuality.

The Surdej family, proprietors of Peaches Boutique, welcomed our young people with warmth, patience, and genuine care. Their team ensured that each young woman felt celebrated throughout the experience.

After shopping, Zaccone treated the group to a late lunch at The Greek Islands. It was a simple but meaningful way to extend the experience beyond the boutique and allow time to relax and connect.

Later, it was our West Loop seniors’ turn. Zaccone’s nephew Patrick joined the outing as the group headed to Men’s Wearhouse. The staff there provided thoughtful guidance, helping each young man put together the sharpest fits for prom.

Just like the Walsh Campus group, the West Loop seniors ended their day at The Greek Islands. The manager and servers welcomed them warmly and treated them with great hospitality, making the evening feel special from start to finish.

Across both days, what stood out most was the care shown to our youth. These experiences go well beyond preparing for prom. Prom is a defining moment in the life of many high schoolers. Zaccone’s generosity year after year gives our seniors the opportunity to feel confident, celebrated, and supported as they mark an important milestone.

Thank you to Suzanne Zaccone for helping our young people enjoy a magical prom season. And for the many ways she and her foundation support our young people’s dreams throughout the year.
