Mercy Home CFO Receives Prestigious Recognition

Cheryl Murphy, Mercy Home’s Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Finance, Human Resources, and Facilities, was one of 22 winners among 700 nominated for CFO of the Year by the Chicago chapter of Financial Executives International (FEI).

Murphy was honored at a dinner at the Chicago Marriott, attended by 800 professionals and emceed by ABC7 Chicago anchor and reporter Ravi Baichwal.  The event recognized 22 senior financial leaders for their accomplishments and contributions to the business community of Chicago.

Murphy was accompanied by her family; Fr. Scott Donahue, President & CEO of Mercy Home; and Minerva Barragan, Mercy Home’s Manager of Property and Reception.

“This is not only a wonderful professional accomplishment by Cheryl,” remarked Fr. Scott, “but also a well-deserved recognition of her years of faithful stewardship of the resources that our donors entrust to us so that we may bring hope and healing to children in need.”

In his official proclamation of CFO of The Year Day in Chicago, Mayor Rahm Emanuel applauded all FEI Chicago members and winners for stewarding the financial health of companies that generate billions of dollars annually for the Chicagoland economy and employ tens of thousands throughout the area.
