Two representatives of The Knights of Columbus, Jeff Griggs and Tim Griffith, visited Mercy Home and presented Fr. Scott Donahue and Director of Business Development & Strategic Initiatives Jim Marrese with a donation in support of our young people.
“I am so appreciative of the generosity that the Knights of Columbus have shown our Home over the years,” Fr. Scott said.
After being presented with a check, Marrese and Fr. Scott gave a comprehensive overview of the Home and showed a video highlighting Brandon Mosley, a former resident. Griggs and Griffith said that they want to continue finding ways to support Mercy Home.

The Knights of Columbus is a global Catholic fraternal service organization. Its councils provide members and their families with volunteer opportunities in service to the Catholic Church, the community, families, and young people.
For years, the Knights of Columbus have supported Mercy Home’s March for Kids as one of their main efforts. Councils throughout the Chicago area collected donations for shamrock pins to support Mercy Home.
Earlier this year, The Chicago Archdiocese Chapter of the Knights of Columbus honored Fr. Scott at its inaugural charity banquet in Schiller Park, Ill.
Chicago Chapter President Jeff Griggs said that the choice of Fr. Scott as the event’s first-ever honoree was unanimous.
“I have been blessed to know Fr. Scott for the better part of 20 years now,” Griggs stated in a letter about the award.
“And his dedication and leadership of the Mission of Our Lady of Mercy remains as inspirational as ever.”
Thank you to the Knights of Columbus and everyone whose support makes March an especially impactful one for our young people. Learn more about our annual March for Kids and how you can play a role–even making your support go twice as far, thanks to a generous donor match!
