Have you ever stopped to consider why fellowship is so important for people of faith?
Faith is like an ember in a fireplace. When it is alone, with no fuel from other pieces of wood, it soon grows cold and burns out.
In order to keep our spirituality alive, as people of faith, we must commune with each other. We need the fellowship of others to avoid our faith from growing cold.
Fellowship is a key part of living our Catholic faith. This is one reason why Sunday Mass at Mercy Home is such a vital part of the Chicagoland community of faith. It is through our broadcast that ill, elderly, and homebound Christians have the opportunity to share in worship and song with other members of our parish of the airwaves.
As we worship together in our living rooms each week, we make up a community of tens of thousands. What an amazing source of prayer and spiritual comfort we provide for each other!
This February, as you share in our worship service, I pray you think about the tens of thousands who are joining with you in song and prayer all over Chicagoland. Their spiritual support is a true blessing in your life—and yours is a blessing in theirs!
I pray that God continues to bless you this month. Please know that you hold an important place in my daily prayers, as well as the prayers of all of us here at Mercy Home.
